DESCRIPTION OF MAIN HOUSE (BUILT 1952)
House has 4 floors on the ground floor there is a large living room with high ceilings, fire place with granite mantel and window seats. This room leads to a large dining room with another beautiful fireplace decorated with antique tiles. On the opposite wall there are built in armoires made of exotic wood with beautifull carvings. This floor also houses the kitchen an office a large pantry and a sitting room off of the kitchen as well as a bathroom. The office and the sitting room can easily be turned into bedrooms.
1st. floor has a very large master bedroom with a dressing area and en suite bathroom all done in light grey granite walls. 3 more bedrooms and one more bathroom
2nd. floor there are e more bedrooms and a 1/2 bath.
BASEMENT
The basement of this house is a nice surprise, here you find another kitchen and dining room storage areas, a Spanish room a billard/games room a large sitting room with a traditional fireplace a bathroom (needs updating)
the basement has large windows and lots of light.
THE COTTAGE
The cottage was built in 1948 and it is full of caracter in and out the traditional kitchen is large but quite cozy again with high wooden ceilings. In total it has 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms and another fireplace.
The property is all walled in with many arches and pergolas and at least 2 sets of large iron gates open up to welcome you inside.
The house has been well cared for. It does however need to be painted on the outside and needs some touch ups on the inside and window shutters need to be replaced. The over all condition is good the materials used at the time were of high quality as it has withstood the test of time very well.
Many of the materials used reflect the life style for that area which as much to do with raising horses and bulls.
The terrain is flat, dry and warm.
Touristic attractions for the area are, the city of Santarem, horse fairs, equestrian center, agriculture museum.
Lisbon is within easy reach and golden eagle golf course is about 30 min way. Beaches are about 1 hour away. There are many water reservoirs in this part of the Portugal especially as you travel up north a bit
